Happy Belated 7 Month

Bad Mommy for not acknowledging the passing of my 7 month mark!

According to yourbabytoday.com, milestones for a 7 month old are:

Your baby now can bear weight on his legs when you hold him upright.

He can sit without support.

Baby can stand while holding onto someone or something.

He can pull himself up to a standing position from a seated one.

Baby walks by holding on to furniture.

Mommy has been so busy at work, she forgot to update my blog for my 7 month birthday. Bad, bad mommy...

This Baby Can Roll!

Lucas is finally rolling proficiently from back to front AND front to back. He’s extremely adept at this new skill and is now rolling all over the new rug.

Our nanny tells us the next step is crawling. (Yikes!)

6 Months

Lucas is 6 months old today!

First cold, uh oh

Not to worry. No fever...just a little congestion. We bought a humidifier and some saline solution to moisterize the nasal passages. Amazingly, the little guy has been sleeping better than ever. Maybe it's the baby acetaminophen we've given him to relieve the discomfort.

My First Christmas

So today is Lucas' very first Christmas! Not that he understands what's happening, but nevertheless, the thought is quite exciting for us as parents.

Today will be filled with family festivities. First we're off to Christmas lunch at Auntie Joellen's condo and then off to Auntie Merry's house for a quick dinner. We have our fingers crossed that Lucas will not freak out at all the strange faces, as stranger anxiety is pretty strong in this little guy.

Now that Lucas is approaching 6 months, we've decided to slowly introduce some solids into his diet. Although most parents decide to use rice cereal as the first official meal, I decided to be experimental and gave Lucas some mushed bananas. The first attempt was a bit of a failure, as he just looked at the banana and didn't know what to do with it. Over time he's seemed to learn to move food into the back of his mouth and down his throat. Some days are still better than others, although he seems to be growing accustomed to the concept now.
